Host to the 1998 Winter Olympic Games, Hakuba Valley lies at the heart of the Japanese Alps, an hour from Nagano City. The Valley comprises 9 ski resorts with over 200 runs covering a variety of alpine terrain, making it one of Japan’s largest and most renowned resorts. Hakuba experiences on average 11 metres of snowfall with a vertical rise of 1,070 metres making the valley an ideal place for novice skiers through to experts. With the sheer size of the valley the slopes are often quiet, allowing skiers’ freedom to explore the trails. Hakuba offers a multitude of dining outlets serving up hearty local cuisine, and getting there is easy with Genko-go, the night shuttle bus which transports guests from the village to the many restaurants, bars and shops.
